Sorting through items needed for an emergency kit. How many of these items can you name?


What do you have in your emergency kit? Is it small enough to carry with you?


Dirty water to be poured into the water filter. Will it come out clean into the glass jar?


Hanging the water filter. Does the water look cleaner to you? (hint: no, I’m not sure either)


Another method of filtering water. Will the water travel up the cloth and come out clean? What do you think?
Give it a try to see. Make sure the container with the dirty water is slightly higher than the empty container.


Which direction is the floating pin pointing? Make your own compass and see if it works.


In the name of research, the author may or may not have run with one of these through the woods.
